Tricia Kelfer is a Canadian actress, born on April 11, 1974 in Stettler County, Alberta. Tricia Helfer was raised on a farm, but a modeling agency discovered her while she was standing outside a movie theatre. The best parts of her German, English, Swedish and Norwegian origins combined into a gorgeous young woman, who was immediately spotted.

Tricia Helfer won the Ford Models’ Supermodel of the World Contest in 1992, which was the triggering point of her modeling career. She was then signed by one of the most famous agencies in the world, Elite Model Management, and later by Trump Model Management. After a 10 years modeling career she retired from the fashion industry and she decided to pursue an acting career, so she moved to Los Angeles.

Tricia had all kind of small parts, usually in TV shows, until she was given an important part in Battlestar Galactica – Number Six. While filming for Battlestar Galactica, she started her work on Canada’s Next Top Model. She was both the producer and the host of the show, but she did not host the second season because she wanted to concentrate on her part in Battlestar Galactica.

At a friend’s birthday party Tricia Helfer met Johnathan Marshall, a successful lawyer and her soon to be husband. Tricia Helfer is also known for her philanthropic work, especially her dedication to animal causes. She is a co-founder of a charity web site, which is opened for donations for different charity causes and events.
